Aleethia 6A - Project Kindness. Ready, Set, Plan!

Hello single reader!                                                                                                           26/2/2019

My name's Aleethia, and i'm on a quest to....How do I word this...Do kind things, because that's what schools do to make you a better person. No, but in all seriousness, it's a necessary practice of tolerance and acceptance to propel us into mature teenagers. The Kindness Challenge is a long process, and it starts today!

AT HOME

Currently, my mom is cooking rice. Why, you may ask? It's for the Kindness Challenge. I mean, i'm writing it on here, so of course it's for the kindness challenge. On our way back from school, we bought three cans of tuna to mix with the rice. I also have some water and a small container ready. Today, my act of kindness will be dedicated to the hungry cats in our compound.
Tuna to mix with the rice.

In our compound, no wild cats are really cared for, and we usually look over them, but I've already grown fond of some cats in our compound, like Coffee and Caramel. I'll try and snap some pictures on my way home. There's also a pregnant, frail cat walking around our compound that my friend and I found while on a sleepover. I'll try and find her too, but she probably walked over the bridge to lot 2 already. I'll update you on this later, so just assume on walking out the house by the time you read this. Here I have some pictures of the tuna and container we got.

THE NEXT DAY                                                                                                                      27/2/2019

I cannot believe that I didn't write anything on here from when I came home yesterday. I could just make the excuse that I forgot, or I could just say that I preferred to roller blade on the 10 meter long road right outside my house. I learnt how to do a sharp turn! ...but that's not what this is about.

There's one thing that I forgot to address yesterday, one of my goals; My goal is to find AT LEAST 10 cats. I have good news, and bad news. Which one do you want first? ...and this is when you realize this blog was already written the way it is, and you can't choose...sorry. We'll start with the bad news. I only fed 4 cats yesterday, which is why I'm going to try again today. It's not a major train-smash, but the thing is I thought there would be too many.

When a friend and I were walking around the compound, we encountered a lot more than I thought. Right now I am in study hall, and we have 15 more minutes, so I won't write that much. I have some more pictures that I'm going to add when I get home. I just realized that I forgot the good news! The good news, is that I found Caramel AND Potato the pregnant cat! I got pictures of them, and two other cats eating the food as proof.

LATER THAT NEXT DAY

I've finally sent all the pictures from my personal account to my school account, which means I can finally show you all 10 cat's i've fed! Yup, I got six cats to eat my delicious food today. The last two pictures have a little story behind them. I'm hoping to do my reflection and finish his blog post today. If not, then that's totally fine, but I KNOW That this will be ready soon. Anyways, here are the pictures -

I'm sorry if the organizing of these pictures are messy. It's because on here, there aren't many options to control where your pictures go, so this is the best I could get it. If some pictures are kind of pixelated, it's because if I got too close they would run away, then when I went away, they came back, so I had to zoom in for some. Anyways, I told you that I had stories to tell. In the last picture you can see one cat eating my delicious tuna & rice mix, and one cat staring at it, or more likely, the food. Well that one staring cat and another cat started walking, then chasing me, so I couldn't take a picture of the last cat.

Now for the story belonging to the second last cat. So I was walking on the sidewalk, peacefully looking for more cats to feed, until I feel something seep into my hair. Splatters of water scattered themselves on my arm, and then I realized that it was starting to rain. There were giant tents and gazebos around the park, plus the big, thick trees, so that's where I was headed. I knew very well that a road to the park was directly behind me, but for some reason, my natural instincts told me to run. So I did. I ran FORWARDS Though. The rain got heavier, so I just took cover inside one random apartment I found. You find that in our compound, it's not weird to go into an apartment, but it is to go into their houses. A little cat decided to take shelter with me, so it was the perfect time to give him so food. I just waited out the rain petting him/her.

In the end, I fed ten hungry cats. Some cold and wet, some pregnant and frail, but they all needed it. So, courage, friendship or kindness? I think that during these two days of feeding hungry cats, I practiced kindness. I'd like to think that i'm friends with the cats, but they only probably like me because of the food. I think that giving, food, warmth and love to something/someone who needs it is the kindest thing you could do. I don't think there is a single thing I would change about this. This was the most fun learning experience! And with that, I would like to end off this blog post. Thank you for making it this far through my blog post. I'm excited to do more in the future!
