Playing Football!

Everyday, my cousins come to my house and we usually have nothing to do, so I took action. I asked any of them if they wanted to play football, only one person said yes. My oldest cousin and I went out to play some football. We were having so much fun that when everyone else saw us play, they also wanted to join! In the end we ended up having so much fun and have a big football match every afternoon! I showed friendship because I played football with my friends and showed them something new that they really enjoyed.

Making Lunch!

Today my mother and grandmother were very busy helping my family do things, like washing dishes or watching my baby cousin. My sister and I took action and decided that we would help make lunch for the family so that they wouldn't be so busy. My sister and I made salad, potatoes and chicken for lunch. This was kindness because I took time to make lunch for my whole family which I had never done before. If I could do this again, I would just do it with my sister and me so that my family can just relax. They were very grateful for this and appreciated it very much.

Helping my Sister with her math

My younger sister had to solve mathematics problems which were very difficult for her. My dad tried to explain to her what the fractions were, but he didn't succeed. My dad tried to explain it to her in a very serious and difficult way. Then I decided to help. My dad had to go somewhere so I came to my sister and tried to explain it to her. I tried to explain it to her in a funny and easy way, so I succeeded. When my dad came back, he saw that my sister knew a lot more about fractions. I thought it was nice because I helped my sister with her math homework.

Helping my mom and sister

My mom was drying my dog( Lola ) because she had just got out of the bath and I saw that Lola was moving a lot and my mom wasn’t being able to dry her, so I went and asked her if she needed help and she said yes. I held Lola while my mom dried her, after we were finished my mom asked my sister to make Lola a bow for Lola’s hair and my sister said she could but she had to study for her final assessment, so I decided to make one for Lola instead here is how it turned out

Thank you for reading
And have a wonderful weekend

Helping Dogs

About two weeks ago I heard about this animal shelter that helps all sorts of abandoned and stray animals like cats, dogs, chicken, donkeys, and a bull. Me and my mom went there to try and help some of these animals. we walked two dogs and we got three bags of dog food. We had so much fun doing this our dongs were so nice and cute they were very playful and friendly but unfortunately, we were only able to walk them for 15 minutes because we were both fasting and the weather was very hot. But we might go again next week because of the amount of fun that we had helping the dogs.

Helping My Sister With Homework

One day, I was sitting at home with nothing to do and my little sister was really struggling with her math homework. I decided that since I had nothing to do that I would help her. After I explained her how to do division, she was grateful and thanked me for helping her. I showed kindness and friendship by helping my sister do something that she could not do without my help. This makes me a kind person because I take my time to help someone else do their work.

I volunteered to participate on fly up day along with 8 other students to help the 5th graders Learn more about 6th grade so they are mentally prepared for next year and so they have a taste of what middle school is gonna be like for them next year. Me and my partner were in charge of 5A.

me, my partner and the 7 other students who were with us started in the morning at 8:15 at  by checking them in with the fly up day stamps.

Then at 9:00 after being welcomed by Mr. Furness and the warm up with Mr. Rawlinson we started showing them the classes they will have next year as well as doing some activities.

First we went to language and literature where we had a class with Ms. Tina and did fun activities,
They learnt that drama can help on language and literature and the students also played a fun 3 headed alien game. Then the students asked us questions about how language and literature was for us

At 9:20 we went to I&S also know as individuals and societies or humanities with Mr. Gregg
Where they learnt What I&S was about and the students talked about where they were from. Then the students asked us questions about how I&S was for us

At 9:40 we went to Design with Mr. Angelo where the students learnt about the cycle they have to go through when making a project and the students where also challenged to make a game

Then at our last class which was science with Ms. Susan we did a activity about diffusion here are some pictures

Then we all reunited at the library and we checked out them by giving the final stamps and then the students were able to give us a Q&A about middle school and some tips

Fly up day was a wonderful experience for me when I was in 5th grade and my opinion has not changed until today and I also hope the Students from 5th grade had a wonderful experience as well

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day

Playing drama for kindergarten

During our drama classes we had the task of preparing a play for the kindergarten. The idea was that at first we went to the library and chose the book we wanted to present. In our case it was a book titled "The Principal from the Black Lagoon". The book tells the story of a boy who was sent to the headmaster and thinks whether the headmaster is an alligator. Then we prepared the scripts for our performance. I was the principal and Abdulwahab was a child sent to the principal. Our show was short, because it only lasted five minutes, but I still think it was great. First of all, the children laughed and secondly, it took a lot of courage for me to present it.

I helped Mrs Kim carry heavy mats from one side of the school to the other, she thanked us for our time and our ability which I found very nice and comforting!

Ramadan Sweets!

During Ramadan, my mom and I love to make her "famous" cheesecake which I enjoy! I helped my mom make cheesecakes and I enjoyed it honestly it was a way of my mom teaching me her techiniques in baking which I enjoyed and I thought we spent a lot of quality time together!

Fly Up Day!

Throughout the Fly Up Day, we thrived to give Lower School students as much information and tips for Middle High school. Our goal was to prepare the students mentally to give them an idea of middle school and for them to experience a personal perspective. Fly up day is a very memorable magical day that everyone enjoys. First Mr Furness came up and had a comforting speech about Middle School, then we observed instructions and the basics of Middle School of a presentation from Mrs Holly! Along with an activity with Mr Rawlinson! Then we rotated and each class took 15 minutes with a 5 minute transition! The classes were, Design, Science, Language and Literature and Individuals and Societies. Then we had a Q&A at the end of the Fly Up Day which we all thoroughly enjoyed!

helping a Friend

A few weeks ago me and my friend were in the cafeteria having lunch we were both talking and watching funny videos then I realized that my friend wasn't eating so I asked him where is your lunch he just said I'm not hungry so I didn' ask him anything else. A few minutes later his belly made these noises so I asked him if he's sure he's not hungry he said I am but I forgot my lunch at home so I offered him some of my lunch he said no. So I went to the canteen and got him a chocolate muffin and a juice. He was so thankful. He asked me when should I pay you back I was about to say tomorrow but then I decided to say never.

Helping my Mother on Mothers Day!

Today I helped my mom by washing all the dishes while every other day they would. I felt like this would be a special action of kindness to show that I am grateful for everything she does! This showed courage and kindness because I had almost never done this and I felt like I should be able to do these thing by myself.I also did it because it was Mothers day and I wanted to show my mom that I loved her no matter what! This makes me a better person because I did something new that also really helped my mother! What I would have done differently is also help her also make dinner!

Making Lunch For My Sisters And Me!

Every evening before going to bed I make lunch for my sisters next day at schools. Here are the steps:

First I wash all the lunch boxes so that they are clean!

Next I wash two apples and cut them equally for everyone!

After that, I get four cucumbers and also cut them equally among four people!

Then I take eight slices of bread and fill them with peanut butter and jelly!

Finally I put everything in and pack up the lunch boxes!

And that is how I spend every evening after school! This is kindness because I spend time to make lunch for my sisters and they are very thankful for it. I like to help them and show them how much I love them! I think that this makes me a better person because I shoe kindness by taking my time to do something for them.

Teaching the grade 5s a math concept.

One day during math we went to the grade 5s and taught a math concept that we learnt. My group taught them different parts of a circle. I think it was a good idea to give them a head start in learning new concept. When they go to grade 6 they will understand most of they stuff they were taught. I enjoyed teaching them our concept, and I'm glad they understood the concept we taught them.

Looking After the Little Kids

Earlier this week my parents and I went over to our friend's house who was having a gathering with a bunch of different family's. The family's that were there had little kids. While I was there I decided that I would look after the little kids for the parents. While the parents were sitting and talking I took most of the kids and started playing games and looking after them. They were doing handstands and bridge walkovers and I was helping them. While the older kids were doing gymnastics I was carrying the babies who had their toys with them. After everyone started to get tired we put on the T.V and watched some tv shows. While I was doing this I showed that I was a friend and that I was kind because I took time out of my day to help others.

Helping my best friend

A week ago I was a friends party with one of my best friends and he vomited that day he had not been feeling well and had not come to school.  So I gave some advice and tried to make him feel better because he was very nervous and upset. I calmed him down and then he went home and the next day he was feeling better.

And Ms. Kim had a class and were using some equipment and when they finished their lesson Ms.Kim called us over and asked if we could help her and put the mats in the GYM I and my friends took some mats then we took some mats and put them in the GYM.

Taking care of a stray cat :)

Once I was going to my class and I noticed a really skinny cat laying in the middle of our basement. She wouldn't leave our building for days. One day was coming back from my class I noticed the cat and decided to give her a wash, she was covered in mud and a lot of dirt. It was kind of risky giving the cat a bath. The next day I decided to take some cat food and water.

When me and my friend poured some water on her she did not freak out, but instead she was calm. I go to know that she just wanted to live somewhere. A lot animals are abandoned, and thats why I decided to take care of her as living without shelter and food, she would die. Giving a bit of food and shelter can help animals survive. After four months the cat was healthy, before that she never left my building as she knew she would get food.

Me and my friend also decided to make a little house for her from a cardboard box. After the four months a lady wanted to keep her and she mentioned that she would take the cat to the vet. After that, the cat did not come back.

“Animals are such agreeable friends—they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms.” –George Eliot

Helping my sick brother

Over the weekend my little brother got sick. He was really warm, and was coughing a lot, he also was really tired to. I did my best help feel better by telling him to drink lots of water and to lay down and rest. Every few minutes I told him to drink some water so he could stay hydrated he took some medicine and that made him feel a little bit better. He still feels sick, and is at home right now.

Helping the cats around the neighborhood

When we first saw her, we went straight to her to see what was exactly wrong, we agreed that she needed to be fostered befor she was adopted so she could be taken of properly and wouldn't have to struggle througha house that was way too intimidating for her. After we had seen the cat, we went to a super market to pick up all her needs and so later tomorrow we would be able to get her medicine from the vet, we bought, her bed, litter-box, litter rocks, toys, yarn, a pretend toy mouse, the last thing to do was pick her up and hope for the best that her medicine would work.

Her illness was not really a big one, in fact, she had just burnt her paws, not dramatically and extreme just a normal skin scrape, that didn't need any kind of surgery. Turns out that all we needed to give her was a creme that we needed to rub on her little paws, and held her still so that it would have enough time to dry and function properly, so a similar occurrence happened later on in the days nd weeks, and it was not that hard actually, me, my mom, and my sisters took turns for the next few weeks, and before we knew it, she was as good as new!

what I learned from this experience was that even if you are helping an animal that couldn't care less about you, you would still be able to give them a helping hand that could truly change their lives permanently in a positive or negative way. Before I knew it, we had given her back to the vet so that someone could adopt her and properly take care of her so that she could bloom, grow, and nurture properly like a normal little cat or kitten.

Donating my old clothes

This year I got new clothes because the ones that I have had for 2 years now are getting small. Over the summer, my grandma gets me and my sister Raven clothes because she never sees us for 10 months. So I donated all the clothes that did not fit me. In my compound, they used to have a donation box but it was removed due to people putting garbage and trash inside it. Now, they have a room for clothes and then my compound donates to people in need.

Walking Dogs

Me and my friends will go out and find people in our compound that want us to walk there dogs. This is because we love dogs and want to help other people as it is very hot outside. Although we are doing it for money. The owners of the dogs only have to pay what they can. But me and my friends are donating all the money to paws animal rescue to help animals.

kindness

Me, Aisha, Hessa decided to continue raising money and then we will buy food, toys... and then give it to paws animal shelter.  Me, Aisha and Hessa decided to join Family Fun Day. I baked brownies, Aisha had a guessing game and she also had a table that had different kinds of chocolate and you have to throw a coin and what ever chocolate it lands on you take it, and Hessa had a station that you can make fairy bottles, and another station that you can take a canva any size and then you can paint on it.

act of kindness pt.3

My fourth act of kindness is when I was in England I saw a homeless person on the street with a dog and I gave some money to him because he was homeless. I put my self in his shoes and said to my self he has no food, no shelter and a dog that does not have any food.  I wanted to help out and make someones day. I gave the man 5 pounds. My fifth act of kindness was when my friend was getting bullied by 8 Th. grades i stud up to him and i started to back him up and i broke the argument up and thats how i helped one of my friends.

Cleaning the swimming pool

I live in a compound with a pool. It is an outdoor swimming pool and next to it there is a café and many tables.

Sometimes some people have a party next to the pool. Some people have pizza, others bring plastic cups and drink juice. Sometimes even someone has a birthday so parents buy balloons so that children can play. When all the parties are over, not everyone cleans up after themselves and when the wind blows, all the cups and balloons fall into the water. Then I and many others who swim at weekends can't swim because the water is dirty. Sometimes the water is also dirty because someone decided to dive for a plastic cup and then they won't clean it. Sometimes you can find fruit cores in the pool. Of course, the pool is cleaned by cleaners but only on some days, not every day. That's why I decided to help and dived underwater to find and throw away rubbish.

In the pool I found balloons and many other things that I threw away. I think it was friendly and kind of me, because when more people see that I have cleaned up the rubbish from the pool, they will also want to help.

Reading a good book of mine to my younger brothers!

I love reading books to other people, judging the fact i've been doing it for... Quite a lot! I have always had a love for books, and when I first read Harry potter, the book filled me up with some kind of exciting feeling that I can't explain, but i'll try my best to! When i'm reading harry potter it feels like i'm actually there. Yes, It's something everyone else says but it's true. The book makes you feel connected to the protagonist and it makes you feel immersed and that is one reason I read the book to my brothers. They are loving it so far!

Donating money to my favorite charity

Throughout this week, I have been working on selling bookmarks to later on donate money to my favorite charity. It's been a very fun journey, doing things I love and enjoy for good!

Bookmarks!

I started giving out bookmarks that I designed and colored and gave all of my friends. Everyone really appreciated the bookmarks since most of my friends are bookworms! I know I can bury my nose in a book and bookmarks can really help with knowing what page I am in:) I will proceed to make bookmarks to everyone who wants bookmarks and more of my friends while appreciating their bookmarks!

Left a kind letters in some books!

I have books at home that I would honestly love the whole world to read. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same taste in books and might not own it. I went on the school's library website, I checked a few of my favorite books that were available in the school's library. Furthermore, the other day I visited the library, with a few of my empowering notes and my poems (anonymously). I definitely asked the librarian if I could leave kind letters in books. And she agreed! I found my books in the different isles and I hope to put a smile on someone's face!

Chair

I was at the mall with my mom and she went shopping so I told her that I will sit in a place so that when she wanted me or something she will know where I am then there was this old lady walking around with a stick and I think she was looking for somewhere to sit and rest so I stood and let her sit instead of me.

Help

My act of kindness is that my sister had a spelling test the next day and she forgot about so she wanted someone to help her and since my parents weren't home I went to her room and helped her learn them.

The War Has Begun!

Recently, a friend of mine broke her laptop and is having to borrow from the library while it gets repaired. She takes the bus so they arrive around 7:15 and by then all the laptops are taken already. I told her that since I get to school early, I'd start getting a laptop for her.
Sunday was the first day I got one for her and I haven't been to the library in the morning for a while because around November I got my own laptop and no longer had to go there. I stood there for about five minutes along with ten others and waited for the librarian. When she arrived, everyone crowded around the cart and as she put in the code, she barely had enough room to breath. The second the lock was off, everyone attacked the cart and forgot about the librarian, who grabbed my arm in an attempt to get out. There was pushing, shoving and some shouting. Within 30 seconds, all the laptops were gone.

I think that I displayed kindness by offering to get a laptop for my friend every morning.
Though this experience has also given me a new appreciation for the librarian, who has to escape that war zone every single morning.

act of kindness pt.2

My third act of kindness took place in P.E. or recess when we played football. Khadir was on my team he is one of my best friends and he is not really good at football. So when we play anytime he gets an opportunity to score we all jump over him and celebrate. Anytime I have the ball and when he is on my team I will always give him the ball when its close to score in the goal and when he does he is very happy and I feel happy as well. My fourth act of kindness is when I was in England I saw a homeless person on the street with a dog and i gave some money him because i felt to give out and make someones day. My fifth act of kindness was when my friend was getting bullied by 8 Th. grades i stud up to him and i started to back him up and i broke the argument up and thats how i helped one of my friends.

Helping My sister

My mom had to go for an appointment and my sister needed help with her maths because she's going to have a test the next day, my mom said she couldn't help and asked my brother and him said he was busy, I came up to my mom and said I can help my sister learn her maths for her math test. My mom thanked me a lot because she had to go for a doctors appointment.

Donating to the poor

I visited India during the long weekend, about two weeks ago. Whenever I go to India, I make sure I take a lot of stuff to donate like clothes and toys. In India there a lot of people who don't have shelter and food. This mostly happens because of the population and natural disasters of India. Also the poor don't get jobs and if they do, their salary is very low, where you can hardly afford not more than two meals.

I always donate the things I don't need. I think its a kind act to do as you don't use it anymore.Instead of keeping the things you don't need, donate or give something you might not need but someone else might find it very useful.

By donating you can help people who don't have clothes, shelter, food etc. One little act has a big affect on the person you are giving to! Some little acts can help them for their entire life.

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”  - Charles Dickens

Playing with a kid in my compound.

There is a boy in my compound, ( let's call him Jack). So me and my sister Raven were playing baseball. She was throwing and I was catching, as she isn't very good at catching. Jack was near us playing with a blue ball the size of my fist. He was lonely and I felt bad. He kept giving us the ball when we couldn't catch it so we asked if he could play with us. He said yes and he took turns throwing with Raven. He is very nice whenever we see him in the compound.

assisting your elders

So during the break, I went to the US. When me and my family went to the mall my mom decided she'll go with my grandma and that me and my dad would stay together. After a while me and my dad sat down on a chair to wait for my mom (She takes forever when she goes to the mall). Both of us were getting really tired of waiting for my mom, when I said to my dad "we have to stand up because there is an elderly man coming and he looks tired. We should give him the seat." My dad agreed, so we stood up and told the man to sit down and me and my dad just stood waiting for my mom to finish shopping.

I think this makes me a kind person because the man looked very tired and if we just stayed there the man would have to stand.

Performing to Pre k

So in drama class we were put into groups of 3-4. We have to perform a little play to the little kids. Me and my group are acting out a book called Winnie goes to Space. It's about a good witch that goes to space with her cat to have a picnic, but when they arrive there are attacked by a rabbit that id eating their spaceship. We have to practice a lot to make it good for the little kids to understand. This will entertain the little kids a lot.

This makes me brave because I am usually very shy to act in front of people and also it was a kind act because we were making the little kids happy.

Now I know how it is to be a teacher...

One day we got a task during which we had to make presentations for students in the fifth grade. The task was to make a presentation about one of the math topics in the sixth grade. I think it was friendly because we were able to show the fifth grade what their sixth grade classes would look like.

Together with Kriss, Arturo and Hashim we had to prepare presentations. The presentation had to be easy and clear not only for us but also for the fifth grade. During preparation to the presentation we faced many difficulties such as unclear vocabulary or not working Quiz.

Then it was time for part two, during which we had to present our presentation in class five. During this part of the session we also faced difficulties, such as children not listening or a not working Quiz.

After completing the whole task, I think we helped the fifth grade.

All photos in this post were taken by Ms. Cathy, our math teacher.

The Gum Incident

On Tuesday, my friend and I were sitting on the benches outside during recess to eat. As we got up, she noticed that she had sat on gum and it was now stuck to the back of her jeans. She and I went upstairs to ask the people at the kanteen if they had any dishwashing soup, they didn't have any though they advised us to ice it. We were going to ask one of the teachers and on the way saw a science teacher and decided to ask them. She said that we'd need to apply heat to it. My friend said that she didn't have a laptop since she would have that teacher after recess, the teacher told her she needed one so we had to go to the library. In the library, the librarian told her that she should apply heat, as the science teacher said so. Once we got her laptop, she played volleyball while I attempted to scrape it off. At the time I didn't think of it as that gross, but thinking back, it had been in someone's mouth. By the end of recess I had make surprising progress and there was much less. But she and I had to go to our separate lessons. After school, I saw her at her locker and she told me she went to the nurse to get ice and once she iced it, it came off.

I think I displayed friendship by helping her get the gum off in the time I had with her.
I helped my family unpack the whole house because we moved to the Pearl and because we had a lot to unpack. I did most of the work and my sister put the boxes in one pile.
I helped my sister with her shoe laces because she has not learn yet.

Helping my mom around the house

About a week ago our friends were coming to our house, it was after school time. My mom was in the kitchen cooking food and I was in my room watching YouTube. I watched for a while and then I sanded up to help my mom. In the first place, of course, I cleaned my room and vacuumed all the other rooms. ( I hate vacuuming, I just did it because I wanted to help my mom.) Then I went to the kitchen and took some utensils to organize the dining table. After that was done I went to the kitchen I washed some fruits and vegetables for my mom. Soon afterward our friends were here and we had a lot of fun.
This makes me a better person because I made my moms day much easier. Helping people can sometimes be hard but after that, you will feel really good and relaxed.

Making a different bed

Over the break my nanny was making the bed in our guest room. We were getting ready to go to the barber shop. I went downstairs and asked her if she could iron my clothes. She said yes, and while she went upstairs I saw how the bed was undone. I ended up making the bed for her and she thanked me for what I did for her.

can you help people?

On a Saturday my cousin and I went to Bounce together and we found a kid that did not know how to do a back flip. He is only jumping up and down so my cousin and I said lets help this kid to learn more, we became friends his name was Ali.  (He did not let me use his real name this a fake name). We helped him and then we started playing together and we were happy and Ali learned knew stunts.

helping a kid

Hello, my name is cameron and I am going to talk about all the acts of kindness that I will be doing throughout this blog. My first act of kindness is when I go to the lunch room at 10:30.  I always give my chocolate croissant to one of my friends called kriss because he always gets healthy food and he hates the type of food his parents give him and he always loves the type of food my parents give me.  When I go to the lunch room we always sit next to each other and I share my food with him and it puts a smile on both of our faces.

The second act of kindness is when I was really sick my sister was so bored and I played with her for a little while and she was happy and when she was happy I felt happy as well because I made my little sister happy.

Jude| Helping My Mom Cook Lunch| April 5, 2019

April 5, 2019,

On April 5, 2019, I helped my mom cook lunch for our family. On that day my mom was cooking Mansaf which is a cultural food in Palestine. so I helped my mom with making the rice and she made the meat and the soup. I also helped her set up the table. we had some guests coming over for lunch like my cousins and some family friends.
I think this is an act of kindness because I was helping my mom with making the food not only for my self but also my family member and family friends, and I was being kind to others. I think it was an act of sympathy because I felt how my mom felt, how she got tired and the time it took her to make the BEST food for us.

Find Yourself with the Map of the Soul

BTS is having a comeback (new album) on April 12 called 'Map of the Soul: Persona'.
For those who don't know, BTS just finished their 'Love Yourself' album trilogy that consists of 'Love Yourself: Her', "Love Yourself: Tear' and 'Love Yourself: Answer'. The 'Love Yourself' series helped lots of people emotionally with its inspiring lyrics and empowering message so I wanted to celebrate the end of the 'Love Yourself' era and the new one.
BTS are kind of continuing their concept though. Now after 3 albums, ARMYs (their fans) love themselves, they need to find who they truly are using the map of the soul.

For two of my ARMY (ARMYs are BTS fans) friends, I made what I call a 'Love Yourself Box'. It is a box covered in the 'Love Yourself' concept pictures and the albums covers too. Inside, I wrote down and folded up some BTS lyrics such as...

  • "90% of your worries are an imaginary swamp that you created. So instead of worrying, don't get scared, cheer up." - Suga, 'So What'
  • "It's just that loving myself doesn't require anyone else's permission." - RM, 'Answer: Love Myself'
  • "I may be a little blunt, I may lack somethings. I may not have that glow around me, but this is me. My arms, my legs, my heart, my soul." - Jin, 'Epiphany'
  • "Me, who used to be sad. Me, who used to be hurt. It'll make me more beautiful." - Jungkook, 'Answer: Love Myself'
  • "The me of yesterday, the me of today, the me of tomorrow. With no exceptions, it's all me." from 'Answer: Love Myself'
  • "I'm the one I should love in this world. Shining me, precious soul of mine. I finally realized, so I love me. Not so perfect, but beautiful. I'm the one I should love." from 'Epiphany'
I want the box to remind them to love themselves because that is important.
Personally, I think I displayed friendship because I have made them gifts to celebrate what we love (BTS) and to share a special message.
I can't wait for April 12th!

Hi! Welcome! Im Maria

I have been challenged to be kind, courageous, & be a friend

My family has always been kind & caring, we always want to help those in need.
Every month what my family & I do is.....

We gather up all our old clothes, clothes that don't fit, or clothes that we don't want or need anymore, we stuff all the clothes inside a bag, so right now there is war in Sudan 🇸🇩 (That's where I come from) and it's pretty tough it has happened for the past three days!

So what we did was all the kids that were in need, we gave them to my aunty (She lives in Qatar and was traveling to Sudan) so she could give it to all those poor kids in the hospital.

In this activity, I think my family & I showed kindness because we helped those who were in need.

Giving Celine's Mom Treats

This morning, I decided to bring Celine's mom some yummy treats. I got her a box of these little Arabic cake treats. They have powdered sugar, and the powdered sugar is on the muffin part, and strawberry jam inside. It is very delicious. Celine's mom appreciated the gesture.

Welcoming my friend Aisha Taprell to her new school.

On the first day of school, I showed courage. I saw a shy girl standing in the crowd, and immediately it reminds me of myself in third grade, the first time I came to ACS Doha I was an absolute nervous wreck, but my anxiety improved, anyway, I went and showed courage by being Aisha's best buddy, she was an extreme help for me to practice my social and confidence skills in real life situations, so not only did I help her but I also improved my skills of branching out of my comfort zone in school.

Aisha told me all about her past school and lifestyle, she told me she is Australian and lived in Australia for basically her whole life, it was nice to know someone that I have never ever met before yet we have a lot of similarities; we both have two older sisters, we lived our whole life in our homeland before we came to Qatar, we are both now going to the same school, and we both show courage, friendship, and kindness to each other and the others, and I know for a fact that if someone in the future comes to Aisha's class, she will branch out like I did and welcome them with the warmest heart in the world.

This taught me that helping others will also help you in some kind of shape or way, because kindness is contagious to everyone in the whole wide world, and you will probably feel good about yourself if you. show good behavior whether you volunteered to help a community or a new friend in school. This also taught me that helping a friend will make them really happy when they are in need as well as they will help you like you helped them when they are in need of a shoulder to cry on or a simple smile that will make them full of joy and happiness and they will spread it around their friends and family and also almost everyone they meet.

As for now, I and Aisha are great fun friends that enjoy our time when we are together.

Empowering notes!

One morning I woke up cheerful ready to show some courage in this world! I went to the art shop and gathered my sources to make baskets and over the years I wrote some empowering notes... I decided to put my notes on paper, in my basket and out to hand out to my family. I had the courage to show my personal notes that people might relate to. I might not have the courage to show it to the whole school but maybe by next week, I will step up... Until next time

Doggy Daycare

This Friday my friend Ruby and I decided that we wanted to go and help out and walk dogs at 2nd chance rescue. We walked and helped many dogs. We also played with the puppy's and kept the big dogs entertained. The woman that was working there was very sweet and kind. She helped us with anything we needed, she also got us out the dogs we were going to walk. Ruby and I are hoping to go back this weekend coming because we love helping the dogs. While walking the dogs we showed the attribute kindness and courage. We showed kindness because we took time out of our day to help out with walking the dogs. We showed courage because we tried something different, and some of the dogs were difficult to walk with.

helping my friends for football part 2

I started helping my friends play football now they went to Al Gharafa football team and they were happy and then at the end I they started teaching me knew moves and then i suggested that all of us help other people.

Helping People

I went to the mall and I helped people out by help them carry bags, help them with systems I even asked a manager of Virtuo City if I can work there for a project he gave me this trainee jacket so I helped people out when they had a problem with the system.

Meeting a New Friend...

I was in 6th grade and a new girl showed up at ACS. At first, I didn't even know her name. It was the first class and I don't remember the teacher.

There was this girl though, she is kinda tall, kinda smiley face. She looked pretty nice and kind, so I went ahead and asked her: what is your name? When is your birthday? Where were you before you came to ACS and I thought that was pretty good because we went ahead and found out about each other (and by the way I introduced myself to her at the beginning before I asked her these questions).

Since that day we became friends and we always walked together in recess and we sat down beside each other most of the times (if we didn't have assigned seats), and we will hang out with each other almost every time we saw each other.

This girl was really understanding because when I was feeling sad, I went to her and I told her that so she put herself in my shoes, and she helped me calm down. I can really trust my new friend because I told her so many secrets that she never told anybody about them.

This is my story about when I first met my FRIEND!

Kindness can Make your Day Full of Brightness!!!

Today, I and my sister went to play outside in the garden, We wanted to play and have fun together,  so we went outside and we got our balls and started playing. After playing for several minutes,  we hear something meowing, so I stopped playing with the ball and tried to find the cat.  I kept on trying to find the cat but I couldn't find it. I came inside the house and poured some milk to the cat's plate that I bought a few weeks ago. I then went outside again and put the milk on the floor.

Later on the day, I went outside and tried to find the plate of milk but it was not there neither the milk or the plate. I went around the garden but I couldn't find the cat and I couldn't find the plate. I was in shock because how would the cat hold a glass plate and take or hold it around and leave.

Finally, I found the cat and the plate of milk and the plate was empty and the cat was sleeping and everything was fine.

kindness

At the beginning of the school year me, Aisha and Hessa decided to raise money and then buy food, beds for animals, toys... for the animal shelter PAWS. The first thing we did was a bake sale and Neil and Chloe decided to join and do the bake sale with us. The total of the bake sale was 800 rials. That is one of the kind things I did during this school year.
I gave some money to one of my class mates because he was hungry and wanted to get a slushy and nachos.

Being a helping hand

Last week during advisory we were trying to log into managebac. Some kids had trouble trying to login so I helped them. I told them step by step how they had to login. After they logged in one of them did a service as action right away. What he did was helpful and beneficial to how younger kids could play a sport. The other one didn't have anything to posts but i'm sure he will post a service as action.

Teaching the Younger Kids

For Math, we are doing a project to teach the 5th graders. Me and a couple of other girls in my class are doing it together. Our goal is to teach them about different types of angles and how to measure them. It will help them to learn a few things before the next year and prepare them for what they are going to learn.

Not Throwing Food Away.

So yesterday I and my mom were organizing the kitchen like throwing expired foods and more. My mom found these Milo cookies that someone had brought me from Colombia. My mom asked me if I was going to eat them and I said no cause I didn't like them. When I saw my mom going to the garbage, I told her to stop and to not throw it away. I took them from her hand and said we should not throw them and maybe give them to a worker that is hungry and doesn't have that much money to but for himself.

helping other people in football

On a Sunday i helped my friend to play football i taught them multiple of things like Rainbow flick and the bicycle kick and other good moves and his name his name is Ahmad and Abdula and then i told them can yiu help me to help other people in the compound.

Putting a smile on someone's face

Over the summer in 2018 me and my family went to Canada. We went to have lunch and while we were heading to our destination we passed a homeless man. I think he had a sign saying "pleas give me food." When we finished our lunch we walked back to the area where the homeless man was. We gave him the leftovers we had from our lunch

Dandelion the cat.

There is a small and scared cat in my compound. Too small for its age. He/she is a yellow, orange colour. It is small and timid when people are within a meter of it. It is too small too catch food on its own so we (me and my sister) feed it everyday when it comes by to say hi to my cat. I call it dandelion. I call it Dandelion because it is small and beautiful, also because of the colour of her coat. It is getting bigger and less scared of people.

Helping Ms Sharlene prepare the grade 5s for their exhibition that is coming up.

Ms. Sharlene is one of my most supportive and dearest teachers, so when I volunteered to be a helper, not only was Ms. Sharlene getting help as well as the grade 5s but also, I felt very good about what I did, because teachers are the people with the hardest jobs and they exceed at their tasks, so what I did, was a sign of kindness and courage, courage; I showed courage by being a Riak-Taker and pushing my limits of stage frights and standing up and having a conversation with a younger audience like the grade 5s.

What I learned from this experience is that if you ever try to help someone or a large group of people is that at the end, you will always feel that feeling where you just feel good about yourself because you helped others in need or assistance, and for that I say that I thank all of my teachers, both close and far for helping me build my future and make it the best it can be and continuing to do that five days per week.

"Say cheese!"

Yesterday, I had a swimming competition but at 6:00 am when I woke up, I was so tired since I hadn't been able to sleep well and I had had a stomach ache after dinner which continued. I woke up my mom because we had to get going, and I told her that I didn't feel well and she didn't either so we decided to skip the first half of the gala. But I still wasn't feeling better and we informed my coach that we weren't coming.
Later on, my mom is a photographer and had a photoshoot for our family friends at Katara. My sister and I had to come along since we couldn't be left at home so we helped throughout the photoshoot by taking turns holding my mom's big camera bag and other bags that the family had brought with their clothes.

I showed both, kindness and friendship, because I carried my mom and the family's things which is kindness. And friendship by also keeping my friend company when her parents' pictures were being taken.

Happy Mothers Day!

Today, my mom had a dinner party and there are going to be lots of guests so we had started taking out plates and etc the night before.
My sister was making pavlova and needed help with it and I decided to help her. I started by taking out all the ingredients since she had just come back from horse riding and her legs were hurting. Then, she didn't trust me enough to let me mix some of it so I was stuck clean up after her because she kept dropping sugar on the kitchen counter as she scooped it up and put it in the bowl.
I have also agreed to help out wherever possible at the party for at the most, an hour. Though my mom and I made a deal that she hand her friends need to be quiet because I have to get up for my swimming competition tomorrow.
This will be considered a Mother's Day favor to her too.
Personally, I think I showed kindness by helping my mom beforehand and also agreeing to help afterwards.

Read! Read! Read!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been helping this little girl get better at reading. on Mondays and Tuesdays, I have been going over to her house and started reading with her. While I am there I do her reading log with her and read and sound out books with her. I am doing this because it is a good thing to do and I think it will help her a lot. I am going to try and continue doing this every week and see how it goes and if she improves. During these past few weeks, I have shown kindness. I think this because I have taken away the days I'm free to help someone else improve on something.

The time I cooked breakfast

once  my mom was sick so she could not cook so I had to cook so I cooked for my mom, my dad, my cousin, my y grandma, my grandpa, and my sister.

Half Blind Cat

6 – 7 years ago, three cats came to my garden and my mom took a cat the was half blind. We got it when he was 4 months old. Today he is 7 years old and his name is Zero.

Slushies And Jaws...

One day when I was at a trampoline park with my friends, Ulia was jumping on a trampoline when she fell and hit her knee on her jaw and I was very worried for her because it looked very painful. I went up to her and I asked her what happened because I wasn't going to ask if she was okay because she obviously wasn't. She told me that she was doing a front flip when she fell and her knee hit her jaw. I heard that getting something cold would numb the pain so I took her to get slushies, we thought we would get them for free but it turned out that we had to pay for them so we walked all the way to the restaurant my mom was staying at to get money. After a while, we came back with the money for the slushies and I got us both some and then her jaw didn't hurt as much, it was even better because we made Dhalya and Julia jealous. Then, we took some pictures and Dhalya bought her own slushy.

Walking the Dog

Recently, my neighbours found a dog on the street that they decided to foster, the dog is living with them for now, but they will send the dog to an animal shelter in America soon. They are a busy family, so every time I get home from school, I walk to their house and walk the dog around the compound because I think that the dog shouldn't just sit in the house all day and not be able to go outside and have fun.

Helping Celine Organize

The second time I ever went to Celine's house, she was moving, so I helped her organize and tidy her closet. I held up her shirts and we had 4 piles, donation, memories, keep, maybe. After everything was organized, we brought black trash bags and put all the donation clothes/shoes inside them. Everything else was folded and put into a box to take to her new apartment. Then we organized everything into her new closet. It took us about 3 hours.

                                                                       Acts of kindness

Kindness means if you get a gift for someone or a present or helping a homeless person being kind means a lot of things and the things that i just said those are only a little bit of examples of what kindness actually means the definition is the quality of being helpful or generous that is what kindness means you should also be kind.

Trip to the Shop

Yesterday, I think I was being a kind because I helped my mom get groceries. That day, my mom was very tired and she felt worn out because she was working all day. And the worst part was that we needed groceries from the store so we could eat dinner. My mom was really tired and she didn't want to go anywhere. So my father, my brother and I decided to buy my mom food and the groceries. I came back with the groceries and her food and she was so happy.

End The Hate!

For weeks now, three eighth graders and I have been practising a play in Drama Club. It's called 'End The Hate!' and is about how we should all be open-minded towards other people's opinions and perspectives. And for this play, we used BTS as an example.
At first, we thought that we were going to be performing it only for the Drama Club, but then Ms. Tina
asked us if we would like to do it for the Lower Schoolers for their book week.
So after my drama class, I stayed back to wait for the other girls and we went downstairs to get ready (Middle High school had 7th and 8th period/an assembly). I was very nervous about performing, and to add to that, I was going to have to deliver a short speech at the beginning to introduce our play and the moral. There was no script for my speech prepared beforehand and I was going to have to improvise, which meant there was a risk of me messing up. After my motivational and inspiring words, I walked off the stage and a fifth grader shouted, "BTS is trash!" in my direction. Though I tried to forget about his unnecessary comment and focus on the play since it was making me more anxious than I was, and I didn't even think that was possible.
I'm not going to elaborate, but let's just say the audience didn't react as we had anticipated and that left us feeling dull.
By then I was used to all the criticism and comments I've been receiving regarding my taste in music, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt any less.

I think that we displayed all three of the attributes, Kindness, Courage and Friendship.
Kindness because we were willing to take the time out of our day and use up our recess everyday solely to rehearse so we could teach the lower schooler about being open minded and accepting.
Courage because we were able to overcome their rude judgement.
And lastly, friendship because we encouraged and supported each other during both practises and the
real play when we were most discouraged.

I hope that in the future, people will accept other for who they are, what they do and the way they feel. I wish they would be tolerant of others and eliminating discrimination throughout all ages.
If only the world was this way...

Becoming Friends

This weekend my dad and I went to a picnic. One of my dad's friends brought her daughter. The daughter, Addy asked me if I could play with her. So we went out onto the open grass and played football and games. After we finished playing football we played tag and catch. While we were playing tag Addys mum came up to me and said that Addy had something to ask me. Addy then asked if I could start to babysit her sometimes, I said sure. After that, we continued to play games and run around. During this act of kindness, I think that I was showing the attribute friendship. I think this because while I was playing with Addy I was being friendly and we became friends.

Helping my cousin!

I helped my cousin on her project about stoichiometry. I did a lot of background research to understand the basics of stoichiometry and more facts to know what to write about of course. She was really thankful I helped her and it turns out im really benefiting from it because stoichiometry is almost a section we use in our science project which helps me understand chemical reactions and basic data more! I feel like I was kind to help her and we did get a better understanding of our funny friendship!

i went to a race and it was fun #fun #grade six #courage

Helping my cousin decorated for her party

So basically my cousin was making a party an she was the only one decorating so from the look in her face i knew she needed help because the space is so big outside so i went out and started to decorate with her. After the party finished there was a big mess outside so we just put the food inside then let the maids clean the rest since it was 1 am at night.

Kholoud 6A- I Helped my Mother with...

         Helping my Mother

I helped my mother with something different in our mother and daughter relationship. I helped her to design some jars for a customer that wanted to have some coffee in the jar so we designed it together, by that I'm showing kindness because I cared about what my mother did and I didn't want her to be tired so I gave her some ideas and showed our teamwork and relationship. It was hard to get all the ideas together but we ended up choosing this design. I think I made my mother happy by helping her.

Making People Smile

Hi! Welcome!

I'm Maria & I'm going on a challenge to do kind things! Kindness helps you to become a better person in life to engage with others!

Good Morning!

I'm starting off the day, with helping my nanny clean the house (She has to wake up at 3:00 AM just to clean the house, iron the clothes, wash the clothes, & prepare my sister & my food.) Ok, so there is a lot of work for my nanny so I decide, just to help her clean the house! Like mop the floor, & clean outside the house with water etc.

My nanny was very thankful once I helped her clean & I love to see a BIG smile on peoples faces! It just makes my day!

Donating clothes

Hello, there! , good afternoon/good morning I'm Hala and I'm in a challenge to do acts of kindness and I'm here to tell you about an act of kindness I did.

On the 10th of March, I have decided to donate some of my clothes and old toys to charity.
I had shirts, pants, sweaters, jackets and much more to donate. I gathered all the clothes & toys I wanted to donate and I placed them in a big black bag and I handed that big black bag to my mom so she can take it to a charity.

From what I have done I learned that just being kind and doing the simplest thing can make you a better person.

Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.

Still Playing Nurse...

My mom's foot has still not recovered and she payed another visit to the doctor, who stressed that she must rest so I'm still assisting her. My family has really been insisting on her resting since we want to go visit my maternal grandmother, who just moved to Quetta (a city in Pakistan), but it depends on whether or not my mom gets better because we have to take two flights to get there.
14/3/2019
My sister was in a bad mood and my mom asked me if I could go to the tailor with and pick up her clothes, I agreed.
My mom parked and I took the money and receipt, went inside, payed and took the clothes for her.
15/3/2019
We picked my sister up from her friend's house and needed groceries, so my mom sent my sister and I to the mall and said my sister could check out the guitar store too.

Over the past weeks, I have been displaying kindness to my mom in every way possible, as she does for me.

Helping My Sister With Her Exhibition 13/3/2019

Today I was helping my sister with her exhibition because she needed help and was struggling. Another thing was she needed a mentor so I decided to help her and be her mentor. I felt bad for her and so that is why I did it.

Buying something for my Sister 12/3/2019

Today my sister was given money by my dad and she wanted to go buy something but she wasn't allowed to go out the compound so I said okay and bought for her because I wanted to be kind to her.

Helping a lost child

I was in katara eating lunch with my family and asked my mom if I can walk in the beach so my mom said okay I went walking and found this little girl crying on the beach I asked her were where her parents she stopped crying and was staring at me the whole time I got her found because maybe she was lost for hours and hungry and after I tried to tell her where her mom was she there she pointed at the left and the whole time her mom was with her friends and I told her mom your daughter was crying the whole time she said oh I thought she was in the carrier so I said take care of her and went.
I gave food to my neighbour's cat because she was starving and there was no one to feed her and she was starving and because it looked like it was about to die.

Karachi United

Yesterday after my swim training, my mom took my sister and I to Aspire Park. She said that there was an under 12 football team called Karachi United, coming from Pakistan to use Aspire's training facilities so she wanted to take pictures of them and we were going to support them since they had a match. At first, I wondered why it was such a big deal that Pakistani boys were coming to play until my mom told us that they were from Lyari.
Lyari is a very underprivileged town in near Karachi (where I'm from). The people of Lyari focus on sports a lot, for both boys and girls. They box, play football and etc, despite the fact that they have neither the proper resources nor facilities to play/practice in. A few months back, my aunt went to Lyari and took pictures of the murals of famous football players like Messi, Mohamed Salah and Neymar, covering the walls. Players as famous as them are idolized in Lyari, little children grow up dreaming of playing as well as them.
My sister and I sat through the match and watched them play against who I'm pretty sure were Aspire Academy.
The match ending with a tie, 0-0. That meant that there were penalties coming and my mom told me to record each in case they scored. By then, I was very sure they were going to win because of how well they had played. Karachi United got one out of three penalties, and the other team got two. As soon as the ball entered the goal, the opposing team exploded. Three of them took their shirts off, and they began to run circles around the pitch as if they won the World Cup. The Karachi United players dragged themselves to the side and one even started crying. I felt so bad for them, they had come from their little town in Pakistan to play without proper training, and they lost. I stood by my mom as she took team pictures, she kept saying, "All of you played so well, smile for us." though only one did. After congratulating them on a great match, we left and I couldn't help but be mad at the other team. They didn't even shake hands, they showed no sportsmanship at all.
On the way home, my mom told me that from that match, three of them had been chosen to go to the UK for proper training.

I showed kindness by watching the match and supporting them the whole way through even though I was hungry and tired after swimming, I realized how much this opportunity to come Doha really meant to those boys.
I wish them lots of luck in the future.

I helped my mom in making dinner because she was not feeling well.

I put out the garbage that was in my house because my mom and dad were tired and sleepy.

Kindness to my brother

On Friday my family and I went to the movies to watch Captain Marvel. Then we went to the kite festival in the evening. After that we went to Cheesecake factory for dinner. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and with french fries and my younger brother got mac and cheese. When we got our food I didn't think about giving him some of my food. I ended up giving him a piece of grilled cheese because I felt like sharing with him.

The Rise of reading

During my long weekend, I decided that I wanted to go into my dad's school and help out the PreK 3's. When I went to there classroom they wanted me to play some games with them. We all played duck duck goose and played in the playground. Then when we went inside the little kids asked me to read books to them. I decided to read them 2 books. I asked them what books they wanted me to read and they said the books they liked to read were books about pets and animals. After I read both of the books I asked them about there opinions on the books and what they liked about them. During this process, I think I showed the attribute friendship. I think this because I played with the kids and read to them, which is what friends do.
I helped my sister clean her room because she is small and couldn't do it by herself and because it was a mess.
I helped my dad clean his car because he was getting very tired.

Helping a baby bird

I was on my way to the court in my park and saw a baby bird on the flower that was lonely and the mother wasn't there for it, I thought 'oh the mother will go and get food and come back to him or her' So I went and played football & basketball with my friends and came back and still found the little bird there so cold and shaking so I eminently held it and ran to my house told my mom my mom came and helped me, we got a cage and baby bird food and water and in the cage we built him a nest and something that he can hide in, a couple days went by and it was okay it eats but it needs help to eat so we bought a baby bird feeder thing and it helped we had him for already a month the bird was happy, not sick so we made him fly away because I don't want it to be in the cage for a long time and I named him Coco.

Helping a Baby Bird

One day I was riding my bike around my compound when I saw something small moving on the ground. I didn't really care at first (thinking it was a leaf or something) but I realized that it was a baby bird when I was about a centimeter away from killing it. I stopped and got off my bike and I carried the baby bird because it did not know how to fly. I waited for someone to pass so that they could help me decide what to do or where to put it so that a cat does not eat it. Some girls passed with their moms and I told them what had happened. So what we did was we claimed a tree and we put the baby bird in some sort of a nest so that it would not fall.

are you kind?

on a Saturday me and my friends and my cousins and his dad were in khor I helped with the bbq and the tents we also started to give the food that we could not finish to the people that need it.

Helping Those Around Us

During our long weekend, I decided that on Thursday I would go into my dads class and help out the students. I helped the students practice their speeches that they had to perform and get graded on. I helped the kids and told them what they could do to improve. The kept on reading there speeches to me until they were as good as they could be. In the end, most of the kids I helped ended up getting great grades on their speeches. During this process, I think I showed kindness. I think this because I used a day of my long weekend to help some kids with school work.

True kindness towards others.

In February when we had sports day some people went to buy themselves food. Cameron bought some fruitella and gave some to me and josh. Then I got some more, but Arham didn't get any. I thought about eating it and kept going back and forth. I ended up giving it to Arham. I did because I felt bad for him and he gave me some of his candy. This makes me a better person because I am sharing with others.

Helping my dad making pizza for dinner.

My mother went for a few days to Poland. I decided to help my dad in making a dinner.  At the beginning I went with my dad to the shop. I helped him collect ingredients, carry shopping and ran a shopping trolley.

My dad told me what was on the shopping list and I helped him to find it in the shop. When we returned home, we took the pizza dough out of the bowl and started to put it on a baking tray.

When the dough was already well spread on the baking tray, we started to spread ingredients such as tomato sauce, cheese, ham and pepper. Then we put the pizza in the oven and waited for 15 minutes. When the pizza was baked well, my dad cut it into pieces and I helped to position the plates and cutlery. When dinner was ready, everyone was ready to eat with taste.

My dad praised me that I helped him a lot and that he was happy that I was so helpful and KIND.

Thanks to this event in my life I learned that there are always opportunities to help and how important is the daily work of our parents.
