Fly up day

Fly Up Day

15th of May 2019

I volunteered to participate on fly up day along with 8 other students to help the 5th graders Learn more about 6th grade so they are mentally prepared for next year and so they have a taste of what middle school is gonna be like for them next year. Me and my partner were in charge of 5A.

me, my partner and the 7 other students who were with us started in the morning at 8:15 at  by checking them in with the fly up day stamps.

Then at 9:00 after being welcomed by Mr. Furness and the warm up with Mr. Rawlinson we started showing them the classes they will have next year as well as doing some activities.

First we went to language and literature where we had a class with Ms. Tina and did fun activities,
They learnt that drama can help on language and literature and the students also played a fun 3 headed alien game. Then the students asked us questions about how language and literature was for us

At 9:20 we went to I&S also know as individuals and societies or humanities with Mr. Gregg
Where they learnt What I&S was about and the students talked about where they were from. Then the students asked us questions about how I&S was for us

At 9:40 we went to Design with Mr. Angelo where the students learnt about the cycle they have to go through when making a project and the students where also challenged to make a game

Then at our last class which was science with Ms. Susan we did a activity about diffusion here are some pictures

Then we all reunited at the library and we checked out them by giving the final stamps and then the students were able to give us a Q&A about middle school and some tips

Fly up day was a wonderful experience for me when I was in 5th grade and my opinion has not changed until today and I also hope the Students from 5th grade had a wonderful experience as well

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day
