This blog provides a service as action opportunity for G6 to think about the ethical implications of actions; when they are kind, courageous, or a good friend, what happens to them, to others, and the world because of their actions? In writing about the impact of these acts on a blog, we hope to raise awareness of how kindness, courage and friendship can propel us to greatness and help make the world a better place.

Help
My act of kindness is that my sister had a spelling test the next day and she forgot about so she wanted someone to help her and since my parents weren't home I went to her room and helped her learn them.

The War Has Begun!
Recently, a friend of mine broke her laptop and is having to borrow from the library while it gets repaired. She takes the bus so they arrive around 7:15 and by then all the laptops are taken already. I told her that since I get to school early, I'd start getting a laptop for her.
Sunday was the first day I got one for her and I haven't been to the library in the morning for a while because around November I got my own laptop and no longer had to go there. I stood there for about five minutes along with ten others and waited for the librarian. When she arrived, everyone crowded around the cart and as she put in the code, she barely had enough room to breath. The second the lock was off, everyone attacked the cart and forgot about the librarian, who grabbed my arm in an attempt to get out. There was pushing, shoving and some shouting. Within 30 seconds, all the laptops were gone.
I think that I displayed kindness by offering to get a laptop for my friend every morning.
Though this experience has also given me a new appreciation for the librarian, who has to escape that war zone every single morning.

act of kindness pt.2
My third act of kindness took place in P.E. or recess when we played football. Khadir was on my team he is one of my best friends and he is not really good at football. So when we play anytime he gets an opportunity to score we all jump over him and celebrate. Anytime I have the ball and when he is on my team I will always give him the ball when its close to score in the goal and when he does he is very happy and I feel happy as well. My fourth act of kindness is when I was in England I saw a homeless person on the street with a dog and i gave some money him because i felt to give out and make someones day. My fifth act of kindness was when my friend was getting bullied by 8 Th. grades i stud up to him and i started to back him up and i broke the argument up and thats how i helped one of my friends.

Donating to the poor
I visited India during the long weekend, about two weeks ago. Whenever I go to India, I make sure I take a lot of stuff to donate like clothes and toys. In India there a lot of people who don't have shelter and food. This mostly happens because of the population and natural disasters of India. Also the poor don't get jobs and if they do, their salary is very low, where you can hardly afford not more than two meals.
I always donate the things I don't need. I think its a kind act to do as you don't use it anymore.Instead of keeping the things you don't need, donate or give something you might not need but someone else might find it very useful.
By donating you can help people who don't have clothes, shelter, food etc. One little act has a big affect on the person you are giving to! Some little acts can help them for their entire life.

Playing with a kid in my compound.
There is a boy in my compound, ( let's call him Jack). So me and my sister Raven were playing baseball. She was throwing and I was catching, as she isn't very good at catching. Jack was near us playing with a blue ball the size of my fist. He was lonely and I felt bad. He kept giving us the ball when we couldn't catch it so we asked if he could play with us. He said yes and he took turns throwing with Raven. He is very nice whenever we see him in the compound.

assisting your elders
So during the break, I went to the US. When me and my family went to the mall my mom decided she'll go with my grandma and that me and my dad would stay together. After a while me and my dad sat down on a chair to wait for my mom (She takes forever when she goes to the mall). Both of us were getting really tired of waiting for my mom, when I said to my dad "we have to stand up because there is an elderly man coming and he looks tired. We should give him the seat." My dad agreed, so we stood up and told the man to sit down and me and my dad just stood waiting for my mom to finish shopping.
I think this makes me a kind person because the man looked very tired and if we just stayed there the man would have to stand.

Performing to Pre k
So in drama class we were put into groups of 3-4. We have to perform a little play to the little kids. Me and my group are acting out a book called Winnie goes to Space. It's about a good witch that goes to space with her cat to have a picnic, but when they arrive there are attacked by a rabbit that id eating their spaceship. We have to practice a lot to make it good for the little kids to understand. This will entertain the little kids a lot.
This makes me brave because I am usually very shy to act in front of people and also it was a kind act because we were making the little kids happy.

Now I know how it is to be a teacher...
One day we got a task during which we had to make presentations for students in the fifth grade. The task was to make a presentation about one of the math topics in the sixth grade. I think it was friendly because we were able to show the fifth grade what their sixth grade classes would look like.
Together with Kriss, Arturo and Hashim we had to prepare presentations. The presentation had to be easy and clear not only for us but also for the fifth grade. During preparation to the presentation we faced many difficulties such as unclear vocabulary or not working Quiz.
Then it was time for part two, during which we had to present our presentation in class five. During this part of the session we also faced difficulties, such as children not listening or a not working Quiz.
After completing the whole task, I think we helped the fifth grade.
All photos in this post were taken by Ms. Cathy, our math teacher.

The Gum Incident
On Tuesday, my friend and I were sitting on the benches outside during recess to eat. As we got up, she noticed that she had sat on gum and it was now stuck to the back of her jeans. She and I went upstairs to ask the people at the kanteen if they had any dishwashing soup, they didn't have any though they advised us to ice it. We were going to ask one of the teachers and on the way saw a science teacher and decided to ask them. She said that we'd need to apply heat to it. My friend said that she didn't have a laptop since she would have that teacher after recess, the teacher told her she needed one so we had to go to the library. In the library, the librarian told her that she should apply heat, as the science teacher said so. Once we got her laptop, she played volleyball while I attempted to scrape it off. At the time I didn't think of it as that gross, but thinking back, it had been in someone's mouth. By the end of recess I had make surprising progress and there was much less. But she and I had to go to our separate lessons. After school, I saw her at her locker and she told me she went to the nurse to get ice and once she iced it, it came off.
I think I displayed friendship by helping her get the gum off in the time I had with her.

I helped my family unpack the whole house because we moved to the Pearl and because we had a lot to unpack. I did most of the work and my sister put the boxes in one pile.
I helped my sister with her shoe laces because she has not learn yet.

Helping my mom around the house
About a week ago our friends were coming to our house, it was after school time. My mom was in the kitchen cooking food and I was in my room watching YouTube. I watched for a while and then I sanded up to help my mom. In the first place, of course, I cleaned my room and vacuumed all the other rooms. ( I hate vacuuming, I just did it because I wanted to help my mom.) Then I went to the kitchen and took some utensils to organize the dining table. After that was done I went to the kitchen I washed some fruits and vegetables for my mom. Soon afterward our friends were here and we had a lot of fun.
This makes me a better person because I made my moms day much easier. Helping people can sometimes be hard but after that, you will feel really good and relaxed.

Making a different bed
Over the break my nanny was making the bed in our guest room. We were getting ready to go to the barber shop. I went downstairs and asked her if she could iron my clothes. She said yes, and while she went upstairs I saw how the bed was undone. I ended up making the bed for her and she thanked me for what I did for her.
can you help people?
On a Saturday my cousin and I went to Bounce together and we found a kid that did not know how to do a back flip. He is only jumping up and down so my cousin and I said lets help this kid to learn more, we became friends his name was Ali. (He did not let me use his real name this a fake name). We helped him and then we started playing together and we were happy and Ali learned knew stunts.
